Balu Shahi


A unique and authentic recipe of Balu Shahi. 

It is a traditional dessert in northern Indian Cuisine, Pakistani Cuisine,Nepali cuisine and Bangladeshi cuisine and is a wonderful combination of yogurt and other ingredients. 

Made in the shape of doughnuts, this recipe is also known as BaluShai.



Ingredients

Plain flour 2 cup
Baking powder 1.5 tsp
Ghee 1/2 cup
Yogurt 1/2 cup
Pistachio (crushed) 1/2 cup
Sugar 2 cup
Water 3 cup
Silver papers as required


Cooking Directions

Add water in a pan then add sugar in it.
Heat them well to make sugar sauce.
Now take plain flour in a bowl.
Add baking powder in plain flour, mix it well.
Add half cup ghee in it and mix well with hands.
Add yogurt in it and keep mixing.
Knead the dough well, and leave it for 2.5 hours.
Make small round shapes.
Make a depression in mid with thumb.
Fry them and then dip in sugar syrup for 1 min.
Place silver papers on them.

Garnish with chopped pistachio.
